Summer Thoughts

Dear Stoa Colorado Community,

I hope you are all well into enjoying your summer by now!  Colorado had a great showing at NITOC - Super job, Team Colorado!!  And it was fun to see some of you at the CHEC conference last week!  We had lots of people stop by our booth, and have several new families intending to join our ranks next year.  :)

As you revel in the forensics off-season, please take just a bit of time to note the following:

1.  If your family could reply to this email with a note listing the 3-4 things you liked best about this past season, as well as the 3-4 things you would most like to see improvement on or changed for the future, that would be helpful for us, as coaches and tournament leadership begin planning next season.  Please try to get this feedback sent to me by the end of June if possible.

2.  Just in case you haven’t heard, next year NITOC 2012 is slated to be hosted in Colorado Springs!  Coach Jeub and others have been hard at work and are in the midst of securing facilities.  Once that is finalized, we’ll be sure to let you all know the scoop, and we can begin thinking ahead and planning for an amazing season!  :)

3. We have been blessed to have Chris Jeub on the Stoa National Board of Directors this past year, and salute him for his service as he finishes up his term.  Join me in thanking him for his excellent and valuable service to our members and the greater Stoa community!

4.  Finally, in case you haven’t yet read the most recent StoaByte that Mr. York sent out last night, please note that July is the month when your family gets to exercise your voice in the organization, by voting on issues and new Board members.  As Coach Jeub and two others leave the Board, you have the opportunity to help determine the future of Stoa with your vote. I was asked by the Board if I would be willing to stand for election, and after prayerfully considering this with my family, I am honored to do so.  If elected to the Board, I will do all I can to serve our Colorado families and the national Stoa community.  However, I am not writing to ask you to vote for me – that is for you to decide.  Rather, I am simply asking you to get involved and vote for the candidates you believe will help steer Stoa in the direction you would like it to go.  We now have the privilege to be active voices in this process.  I urge you to act on that privilege, and make your voices heard!  The decisions the Board is making in these formative years will shape Stoas’ future, so please prayerfully read the Candidate Biographies when they are posted on the website in early July, and thenvote!  And if you have any questions for me, please feel free to email me at momy8s@mac.com, or call me at 303-818-3198

Whew!  I think that’s it for now!  It was wonderful sharing the past season with you, and I look forward to next year after we all take a well-deserved break!  :)   To our graduates, I send my best wishes for a wonderful future, and look forward to seeing you back as alums!!  :) Blessings to you all, Laura Yeates
