(Rhetoric Effectively Showing Our Love, Virtue and Excellence)Who we are: Resolve is a competitive Christian Home school Speech and Debate Club, which competes in the Stoa Speech and Debate League (www.stoausa.org ). www.stoaco.org What we do: Resolve trains Christian home school students to compete in local and national tournaments to improve their communication skills and prepare them to bring the truths of the Christian faith to the world in a winsome and persuasive way. Why we do it: So that young Christians are prepared to communicate their ideas effectively to a dying world that needs the love of Christ and to make them influential in the culture. When do we meet: Every Thursday, beginning September 8, from 3:00-5:15pm for Speech and 6:00-8:30 pm for debate. Where do we meet: Mountain Springs Church in the Summit Center located at: 7345 Adventure Way, Colorado Springs, CO 80923.
- Thursday afternoons
- September through April
- Speech Class: 3:00 – 5:15
- Dinner: 5:15 – 6:00
- Debate class: 6:00 – 8:30
Cost: $60 per student per semester or $100 per student per year for Speech. $60 per student per semester or $100 per student per year for Debate. Other Requirements:
- Stoa family membership, $35 per year
- Meet eligibility standards for Stoa competition
- Purchase required texts according to events
- Parents must participate in training and tournaments
- Willingness to try new things
- Receive and respond to constructive feedback
- Able to step out of comfort zone
